Last week we had our first preserving workshop and it was a roaring success! Fruit Share Steinbach partnered up with Anna's House to make rhubarb freezer jam as part of the "Kids in the Kitchen" program at Anna's House. Sandy and Rebecca lead eight youngsters through the steps of harvesting rhubarb, cleaning and cooking the stalks and then adding pectin to make freezer jam. Each kid got to take two jars of jam home to share with their family. Everyone had a great time and the jam was delicious!
