Hi there food rescuers! I'm the new Food Program Intern, and I'm excited to get into the swing of things. I love being outside and seeing what likes to grow around here, making and eating good food, and picking up new skills along the way.
So far, I've been learning how to navigate this website and getting familiar with how this whole system works from the inside. And all that learning requires some refreshment. This is my go-to smoothie when I'm busy, since it's quick and easy.
Tangy Raspberry Smoothie
1 1/4 cups plain unsweetened yogurt
1 1/2 cups frozen raspberries
1 Tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp grapefruit white balsamic vinegar*
Add all ingredients to blender.
*This is my favorite balsamic vinegar from Prairie Oils & Vinegars here in Steinbach. If you don't have this specific one and still want a tangy flavor, not to worry. You can use a different balsamic vinegar of your choice (I'm told the vanilla one is also good in smoothies), lemon juice, rhubarb syrup, or anything else you like.
I'll be making regular posts about what's happening with Fruit Share as the summer goes on. I can't wait to see what we'll be harvesting this season.
